Lizzo is climbing the charts like crazy these days.
Her music is raw and refreshing.
Her attitude, straight-up and unapologetic.
Her lyrics human and forthright.
Lizzo has it all. She’s got talent — she can jam on that flute like the classically trained flautist she is. She’s got attitude — Lizzo is on a mission to put it all out there — she’s a role model for unabashedly telling-it-like-it-is.
And, she’s got confidence — she commands the stage and engages her fans while wearing sequined bodysuits and high heels.
Despite what you, or others may think about her music, Lizzo won’t let anyone take away her shine. And furthermore, she is committed to helping others find and polish theirs. What I like and appreciate about Lizzo is that when she hits the wall she figures out how to use all she’s got to meet the challenge with creativity and honesty, and she brings that message to her audience and to her work.
Lizzo teaches us that useful lesson — Illegitimi non carborundum — or, “don’t let the turkeys get you down.” Some days may be easier than others, but, in the end, if we remember our strengths, and find the inspiration each day, we, like Lizzo, will be able to just keep it pushing,.. ay-ay-ay,
